11/13: Gender-based Violence in the Fields & the Food We Eat

Wednesday, November 13, 2019

6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

The People’s Forum

320 W 37th St.

NY, NY 10018

Join leaders of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and organizers with the Alliance for Fair Food to discuss how farmworkers and consumers are putting an end to human rights abuses, from wage theft to sexual harassment, in the fields through the groundbreaking Fair Food Program. Learn more about how you can partner with farmworkers to ensure dignity and respect in our food system.

This discussion will culminate in the opportunity to attend the “March & Rally: What are you hiding, Wendy’s?” action on November 18th: https://www.facebook.com/events/1526715417470579/

On November 18, farmworkers from Immokalee, together with their consumer allies, will return to Manhattan for a major march demanding real transparency and human rights protections in Wendy’s supply chain – the last major fast-food company to refuse a partnership with the Immokalee farmworkers and their Fair Food Program. We will march to the hedge fund Trian Partners, Wendy’s largest institutional shareholder and the home office of several members of Wendy’s Board of Directors.

Please email organize@allianceforfairfood.org or call 610-999-8416 if you have any questions.
